A true symbol of summer, grapes, whether green or red, are juicy little orbs that not only refresh but also help beat the heat. They are effective in tackling weight issues and may even reduce the risk of certain types of cancer.

A U.S. study divided participants suffering from obesity into four groups. One group drank grape juice, the second took grape extract, the third consumed fresh grapes with every meal, and the fourth received a placebo extract with no active ingredients.

All groups were instructed to walk for 30 minutes each day.

At the study's end, the placebo group lost half a kilogram, the group drinking grape extract lost one kilogram, and the two groups consuming grape juice or fresh grapes each lost one and a half kilograms.

Researchers concluded that grape chemicals likely improve insulin resistance in the body, helping sugar enter cells to produce energy.

As we know, insulin resistance is one factor that encourages obesity.

Grape juice is rich in flavonoids that inhibit disease-causing agents. A central reason is that grapes are potent antioxidants, similar to concentrated amounts found in pomegranates or beets. It is advisable to consume purple or black grapes as they are considered rich in antioxidants and a wide range of polyphenols, more than other fruits. They are produced by the plants themselves and are effective in reducing vascular diseases and tumors. Grapes have seeds that are highly recommended for chewing and eating, as they are even richer in antioxidants than the grapes themselves. You can find grape seed extract capsules in health stores, which significantly improve circulatory disorders, vein inflammations, and hemorrhoids.

These seeds are also beneficial in maintaining eye health, protecting against cataracts, and macular degeneration, and they help prevent degenerative diseases like multiple sclerosis and Alzheimer's.

Grapes also aid in maintaining skin health, useful for treating eczema, fibromyalgia syndrome, fatigue, and headaches. They are effective in preventing inflammatory processes, such as arthritis and respiratory allergies, while also keeping the heart and blood vessels healthy.

Important to remember: Grapes contain a significant level of sugar, so individuals with diabetes should be cautious about consuming them in large quantities.
