A recent study from Sweden found that high caffeine consumption can lower the risk of type 2 diabetes and reduce body fat levels.
The study involved around 10,000 participants from across Europe. Results showed that some individuals with high caffeine levels had genetic variants linked to slower caffeine metabolism and consumed less coffee on average, compared to those with faster metabolism who could experience caffeine's stimulating effects more readily.

Additionally, a connection was found between genetic blood factors, body weight, body fat levels, and reduced risk of developing type 2 diabetes.
"These findings provide evidence for what observational studies have shown previously, that caffeine may play a role in reducing the risk of obesity and type 2 diabetes," the researchers told the British Medical Journal. They mentioned that consuming 3-5 cups of coffee daily (with each cup containing 70-150 mg of caffeine on average) might reduce cardiovascular diseases.
