What type of tea do you enjoy, and how beneficial is it for your health?

According to Dr. Olga Alexandrov, an internal medicine specialist, tea without sugar or any sweeteners is better for your health. Adding sweeteners can negatively affect your metabolism, so the positive effects of tea – they come when the tea doesn’t contain sugar, sweeteners, or cream.

Dr. Alexandrov also explained in an interview with the Russian news agency "Prime" that unsweetened tea is effective at reducing the risk of heart disease, vascular diseases, and even cancer. She noted that this applies to all types of tea – although she stressed the need for caution with herbal teas, which can have adverse effects on the body.

She continued to explain that tea has specific positive effects on the body. Tea contains biologically active substances such as: vitamins B1, B2, P, PP, iron, catechins, antioxidants, calcium, amino acids, magnesium, calcium.

Regarding green tea, Dr. Alexandrov points out that consuming three cups of green tea daily reduces the risk of prostate cancer, endometrial cancer, heart and vascular diseases, and stroke.

And what about black tea? She states that it has positive health benefits, as it reduces the risk of cognitive impairment and osteoporosis among the elderly.
