Nadia McCarpery's incredible story begins when she was just seven years old. While playing outside, she was bitten by a venomous snake and rushed to intensive care at a London hospital. "I felt an indescribable pain in my left ankle and immediately understood I was going to die," recalls 47-year-old Nadia.
For 10 days, young Nadia fought for her life until the doctors finally gave up, declaring, "She won't survive." "Suddenly I felt myself leaving my body, looking at it from above without any real interest. All I could see was this beautiful light—strong, pretty, and full of love."
Nadia continues to describe the scene, recalling an encounter with 'celestial beings' made of light, who spoke to her. "One of them clearly told me, 'You are not going to die, but I have to leave now. You can't come with me, because you have so much to do. You must return to life.'"
And then she woke up.

Everyone rushed to me, hugged me, delighted that I 'returned.' But I wanted to shout at them that I hadn't truly returned. That I saw something else, something that changed me. That I wasn't the same Nadia they knew. I was no longer a child.
She bravely shared her experience with her grandmother, who waved her hand dismissively and warned her, "Don’t tell anyone else. They'll think you’re crazy and put you in an asylum."
Nadia grew up, and the more she kept silent, the more she became withdrawn, sad, and depressed. A secret that profound can't be held onto forever. At age 17, Nadia decided to end it once and for all and attempted suicide. Again, the cycle repeated. "I arrived once more at the light, but this time there were no other beings. Just the white light. And again, I heard that powerful voice—coming from everywhere and nowhere—telling me, 'You cannot stay here. You haven't started your work yet.' I thought to myself: 'Here it goes again.' I’m very stubborn, love to argue with everyone about everything. I wanted to argue with this voice—but believe me, you don't argue with that voice."
Reluctantly, Nadia obeyed the voice and returned to Earth. When she opened her eyes, she found herself alone. The doctors had left the room after declaring her dead. "After everything that happened, I did some serious thinking and realized a crucial lesson in life. I understood it wasn’t a good idea to end my life. They don't want me—not now. So... I need to be here, find my purpose, do what I’m meant to do. And I will never attempt suicide again; it’s pointless. We need to stay here and complete our mission as best as we can."
