#VALUE!
It was a summer day in the Jerusalem neighborhood of Geula, back in July 2000. The details of this extraordinary event were verified through Lea W., and were later published in the newspaper 'Yated Ne'eman'.
In her dream, Lea W. found herself walking along Malchei Yisrael Street, when she suddenly spotted the familiar figure of her recently deceased sister among the passersby. Shocked and thinking it was her imagination, she picked up her pace, but her sister seemed to be following her. Overwhelmed and in disbelief, Lea started running, reaching the well-known "Express Market" at the corner of 'Malchei Yisrael' and 'Yeshiva' streets. Her sister continued to follow her until she inexplicably vanished into the store. Confused, Lea looked everywhere for her but couldn't find a trace.
A moment later, she awoke—realizing it was all a dream.
Lea was deeply distraught and unsure what to make of it. Was it simply a false dream, or did it carry a hint of prophecy? Intrigued, she decided to visit the Geula neighborhood to find clues about the message her sister might have been trying to convey.
Upon arrival at the mini-market, Lea approached the store owner, Shalom, who was behind the counter.
- Did you know a woman by the name...? she asked, mentioning her sister's name.
- No, who is that? Shalom replied.
- She's my sister who passed away recently, Lea explained, recounting the astounding dream.
- I don't remember having a customer with that name, Shalom stated.
- Could you check your customer cards? Lea asked persistently.
- I'm sorry, but I see no such name, Shalom said after checking, adding that he didn't recall any debts listed under that name.
- Do you have any old records? Lea inquired.
- Yes, let me check my older files, Shalom remembered. He sifted through old dusty papers and suddenly exclaimed, Yes! Here it is! There's an old debt recorded under that name for 560 shekels!
Overjoyed with the opportunity to settle her sister's debt and provide her peace, Lea was profoundly moved by the privilege of receiving a message from the world of truth. Not everyone is blessed with such an experience. While many small or forgotten debts linger, few get the chance to resolve them so directly from beyond.
Following the publication of this story in 'Yated Ne'eman', Shalom, the store owner, sent a letter affirming the authenticity of the event:
By the grace of Hashem
I, the undersigned, confirm this incredible story regarding my customer, the righteous and beloved rabbanit of blessed memory, who passed away. Weeks after her passing, her sister dreamt of her, came to the store, and settled the debt. I certify the truth of this story.
Signed, the owner of 'Express Market'
Clearing Debts Through Dreams
Rabbi Chaim Kanievsky once shared:
A yeshiva student told me a beautiful story. His father had passed away and appeared to him in a dream, revealing an unpaid debt to someone. The son approached the creditor intent on settling his father's debt. The lender asked, How did you even know about this debt? No one was aware of it! The son explained that his father had appeared to him in a dream.
It seemed that his father was extremely scrupulous in financial matters, thus was given permission from above to reveal the debt.
