A moving story by a Jerusalem student is touching hearts: This story was shared by the student during Rabbi Jonathan Shtenzel's lesson, broadcasted on the Torah lesson line 'Amar Abaye'. The student expressed his dilemma about sharing the story to avoid damaging the dignity of the deceased, known as a righteous person who collected money not for himself but for the poor.
According to the student, this was a Jewish man who collected charity in the streets of Jerusalem for years but passed away about two years ago. The beggar appeared in a dream to a resident of the Batei Ungarin neighborhood in Jerusalem, pleading with him to go to two Jews whose names he mentioned (one of them is a yeshiva student at 'Zichron Moshe' in Jerusalem) and give them chickens for Shabbat.
It turns out the beggar wanted to appease the two men because he had once raised his voice at them and feared that doing so may have been disrespectful. "I was moved because the deceased was a person of great kindness, and if he was given the right to appear in a dream to make such a request, it shows the importance of these matters in the world beyond."
According to the student, even though he "barely remembered he offended me, we learn from this how even a small and seemingly insignificant offense can be meaningful."
