Have You Heard of the World’s Largest Butterfly?

Most butterflies we see are small and delicate. But some are much bigger than we imagine. The largest butterfly in the world is called Queen Alexandra’s birdwing. It lives high up in the trees of rainforests near Australia.

The males can have a wingspan of up to 28 centimeters, and the females can reach an amazing 32 centimeters. That’s as wide as a school ruler and more! Even though it’s so large, this butterfly still glides gently through the air, just like its smaller cousins.

What Is a Refinery?

A refinery is a factory that takes natural materials, like crude oil or raw sugar, and turns them into products we use every day. For example, oil from the ground is sent to a refinery, where it’s cleaned and separated into things like gasoline, diesel, and even asphalt for roads.

Refineries also work with natural things like salt and sugar. One downside is that they give off a lot of smoke, so they are usually built far from where people live. In Israel, refineries are mainly in Haifa and Ashdod.

When Did Newspapers First Appear?

You might be surprised to know that newspapers have been around for a very long time. The first ones appeared nearly 100 years before the Common Era, during the Roman Empire. That newspaper was called Acta Diurna, which means “Daily Events.” It was written on stone or papyrus and placed in public areas in Rome.

Later, in the early 1800s, the first modern printed newspaper came out in Strasbourg, a city that used to be part of Germany and is now in France. Since then, newspapers have continued to grow and change, helping people around the world stay informed.
