The Pioneer Inventor Ahead of His Time
Leonardo da Vinci lived in Italy during the late 1400s. Most people know him as a famous painter, but he was also a sculptor, scientist, engineer, mathematician, architect, and even a musician.
During his life, da Vinci drew sketches of many creative inventions. Most of them weren’t built while he was alive, but years later, many of his ideas became real. Some of these included bicycles, submarines, water skis, diving suits, helicopters, flying machines, parachutes, tanks, and more.
Understanding Heat and Cold
It might sound simple, but what really are heat and cold? What’s happening when something warms up or cools down?
Everything in the world is made of tiny particles that are always moving. When something gets hot, the particles move faster and spread out. When something gets cold, the particles move more slowly and stay closer together. That’s why warm air rises, it’s lighter. Cold air sinks because it’s heavier and more packed together.
Who Was the Tallest Person Ever Recorded?
It’s hard to know who the tallest person ever was in all of history, but we do know who holds the record in modern times.
Robert Wadlow lived in the United States in the early 1900s, and he was incredibly tall, 2.72 meters (almost 9 feet)! His height still holds the world record today.
