Did you know how a phone works?
A phone takes your voice and turns it into electrical signals. These signals travel through wires or are sent wirelessly through antennas, reaching the person on the other end so they can hear you. In the past, phones were all connected by wires to a big switchboard, but today we mostly use wireless signals.

Did you know which antelope adds moisture to the air?
The saiga antelope, found in central Asia, has a funny-looking nose that looks a bit like a vacuum cleaner. This nose helps it filter out dry, dusty air and adds moisture so the antelope can breathe more easily. Sadly, the saiga is endangered, and many people are working to protect it.

Did you know what the most colorful tree is?
It’s called the rainbow eucalyptus. Its bark peels off throughout the year, revealing beautiful stripes in bright colors like green, orange, purple, and red. The trunk ends up looking like a rainbow!

Did you know how fish breathe?
Unlike people and animals on land, fish don’t have lungs. Instead, they use gills to take in oxygen straight from the water. The gills also help them push water back out as they breathe.

Did you know about Albania’s concrete mushrooms?
All across Albania, there are about 700,000 mushroom-shaped bunkers. They were built starting in 1967 by order of a dictator named Enver Hoxha to protect the country from attacks. But those attacks never came, and the bunkers weren’t needed. The project cost a huge amount of money that could have gone to schools, roads, and factories.

Did you know which animal preys on lions?
Actually, none. Lions are known as “top predators,” meaning no other animal hunts them. The only real danger lions face is from humans. On the other hand, lions hunt many animals, even ones bigger than themselves.

Did you know what's the longest beetle in the world?
It’s called the Hercules beetle, a type of rhinoceros beetle. While the Titan beetle is heavier, the Hercules beetle is the longest and can grow up to 20 centimeters long!
