A hospice nurse in Britain shares her insights on what dying patients see near the end. Nurse Hadley Vlahos discusses her experiences with patients nearing the end of life on her YouTube channel. She revealed that one of her patients described life after death to her, saying: "It’s beautiful, you know." When the nurse asked what she meant, the patient replied, "The afterlife. I can't wait."
Vlahos spoke to "The Mirror" about the first time she heard a terminally ill patient speaking to a lost loved one. Initially skeptical, she explains that many patients have told her they talked with deceased loved ones before passing away themselves.
The nurse recounted an encounter where a patient asked, "Were you the butterfly?" Vlahos turned and scanned the room, but no one was there. "I leaned in, touched her arm, and said, 'Pardon?' She replied, 'I was asking my son if he was the butterfly.' When I spoke with her husband in the hallway, his eyes filled with tears as he recounted how their teenage son had died and how his wife saw butterflies everywhere afterward."
Vlahos admitted that her experiences with end-of-life care have made her question her atheistic views.
