Freed Israeli Hostage Noa Argamani Visits the Lubavitcher Rebbe’s Resting Place to Pray for Remaining Captives
Nine months after her father prayed at the same site for her safe return, Noa Argamani offers thanks and heartfelt prayers in New York for those still held in Gaza
(Photo: shutterstock)Recently freed Israeli hostage Noa Argamani visited the Ohel, the resting place of the Lubavitcher Rebbe (Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson) in New York. Her visit came nine months after her father had prayed there for her release while she was still held captive in Gaza.
At the site, Argamani prayed, placed photos of the remaining hostages, and asked for their swift and safe return home.
A Moment of Shared Hope and Pain
Argamani was joined by several families still waiting for their loved ones to return:
The mother of Riot Police officer Ran Gvili, whose body remains held by Hamas.
Eli Bibas, father of Yarden Bibas, whose wife Shiri and sons Kfir and Ariel were kidnapped.
Ayelet Smarno, mother of Yonatan Smarno, who was kidnapped and murdered in captivity.
The brother of Oron Shaul, taken during Operation Protective Edge.
The mother of Omer Shem Tov, still held hostage.
The mother of Ohad Yahalomi and the grandmother of Eitan, who has since been freed.
Continuing Her Father’s Prayer
Argamani expressed gratitude for her miraculous rescue and recalled how her father, Yaakov, had stood in the same place at the beginning of the war holding her photo, praying for her release. “Now that my father’s prayer has been answered,” she said, “I came to recite the same prayer, for all those who are still waiting to come home.”
From Captivity to the Halls of Power
Since her release, Noa Argamani has become a symbol of hope and resilience. She accompanied Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his wife, Sara, on their trip to Washington, D.C., where she attended Netanyahu’s address to the U.S. Congress and received a standing ovation from the audience.
