Elon Musk's Internet Service Reaches Gaza Hospitals

Entrepreneur and billionaire Elon Musk visited Israel a few months ago. He traveled to Kibbutz Be'eri, witnessed the horrors up close, wore the hostages' necklace, and defended Israel. Last night (Wednesday), Musk tweeted on his X account (formerly Twitter) that he is launching a new service – internet for hospitals in Gaza.

Musk's satellite internet service is called Starlink, and it is surprising to see someone who recently visited Israel launch such a service in the heart of Gaza. It seems that the organizations benefiting from this service will be aid agencies and the UN, but there is no guarantee that Hamas won't take control or use the internet operating in the area. Following this development, social media focused on an important question: will the terrorist organization be able to access the internet operating nearby? Currently, there is no assurance that Hamas won't use and exploit the internet for its benefit during the conflict, however, on the other hand, it is very likely that since Israel knows exactly the range of the service, Hamas might not dare to risk entering the hospital area.

According to reports, Musk was allowed to introduce the service to Gaza by the Israeli Ministry of Communications. The goal was to supply internet to authorities in emergencies, with ministry representatives even entering Gaza along with security officials who approved the service's introduction. As far as is known, it involves the United Arab Emirates hospital in Rafah. Musk wrote last night: "Starlink has begun providing internet services to hospitals in Gaza with the approval of Israel and the United Arab Emirates."
