Many of us iron our sheets to keep them smooth, but a new tip circulating online suggests you might not need to do that anymore. The reason: you can get clean and fresh sheets without wrinkles straight from the laundry, no ironing required. How is this possible? If you have baking soda at home, you probably won't need your iron any longer.

Rebecca Swain, who created the viral video, explains that there's no need to waste precious time ironing sheets. Instead, you can add about 60 grams of baking soda to the washing machine along with your detergent or washing gel. According to her, the baking soda will soften the sheets and prevent wrinkles.

Blogger Carolina McCauley, a mother of two from Australia, shared another viral video where she mixes 2 cups of water, a quarter cup of fabric softener, and a quarter cup of disinfectant alcohol in a spray bottle. She sprays this solution on a wrinkled blanket, and it straightens. The solution includes fabric softener, which also adds a pleasant scent.

Baking soda has also become an integral part of home cleaning routines, even helping to clean carpets. According to the British site Express, spraying water on sheets combined with adding damp socks and towels, as well as ice cubes during the drying process, assists in reducing wrinkles.

Adding ice cubes to the washing machine has become very popular on social media in recent months. People add a handful of ice cubes to the dryer about ten minutes before the drying cycle ends to "iron" the sheets. Why? The ice melts from the heat, turns to steam, and the sheets "straighten," similar to ironing.
