Jewish-American comedian and actor Jerry Seinfeld recently traveled to Israel to express solidarity with the country during its difficult times. Seinfeld also made several strong pro-Israel statements — unlike other Jewish artists who chose to stay silent.

Seinfeld Confronted by Pro-Palestinian Protesters in New York

Soon after his visit, Seinfeld found himself being targeted by pro-Palestinian demonstrators after leaving an event in Manhattan, New York. Fortunately, he was surrounded by a large group of police officers who shielded him from the crowd.

As he walked toward his car, protesters shouted “Genocide supporter!” at him right outside the venue. Seinfeld remained composed and, rather than engaging, chose to wave politely — something that at first glance looked as if he were acknowledging fans.

Still, the protesters continued to hurl insults, as captured clearly in a video circulated on YouTube: “Genocide supporter! You support genocide!” one protester yelled repeatedly.

Following the incident, New York police arrested several demonstrators for questioning.

Ongoing Support for Israel Since the Start of the War

Since the beginning of the war, Seinfeld has publicly stood with Israel and shared multiple supportive comments. His wife — known for her strong affinity for Israel, also visited the country.

This is not the first time Jewish Hollywood celebrities have been confronted by pro-Palestinian groups during the conflict. Approximately two months after the war began, actor Alec Baldwin was also verbally attacked for his vocal support for Israel while heading to teach an acting class.

Seinfeld’s Wife Shares Emotional Reflections After Visiting Israel

Seinfeld’s wife recounted her experience in Israel: “We wanted to see with our own eyes the results of the attack. We saw homes where families were tortured, shot, bombed, and burned alive. We stood on the grounds where hundreds of young people at a music festival were murdered and kidnapped. As painful as it was to visit those places, what I will remember most are the people we met in Israel.”

She described meeting:

  • Heroes who saved thousands of lives

  • Young volunteers from New York who came to work on farms while Israelis served in the military

  • Released hostages and families of those still held captive

  • Civilians providing emergency aid through volunteer services

She added: “This was my fifth visit to Israel, and I have never seen the country more united. People from every walk of life… wounded soldiers, families of peace activists whose loved ones were murdered or are still held hostage. The horrors erased internal divisions. Everyone has united around a higher purpose — to defeat Hamas, build a safer and stronger Israel, and create a better and more secure world.”
