Stirring emotions online: Tzvika Greenglick, the father of the fallen warrior Shauli Greenglick, accidentally hit a woman's car recently. He exchanged details with her, admitted fault, and promised to take care of the repairs.
The two arranged to meet at a repair shop on Wednesday.
However, Tzvika was nowhere to be found.
The woman tried calling him while she waited at the shop, but there was no response. Disappointed, she went home but sent him a text on Thursday: "I'm very disappointed; your behavior is not nice and not respectful. We agreed on Wednesday, and you didn't show up."
Once he saw the message, he replied with an apology, explaining why he missed their meeting. "On Tuesday, my son Shaul fell in Gaza, so I couldn't come. I'm truly sorry," he wrote.
Naturally, the woman's response to his message was anything but indifferent. To her surprise, she realized she had attended Shauli's funeral without knowing Tzvika was his father. On the same day, she visited their home for condolence calls. Tzvika told her, "As soon as the shiva ends, I'll send you the repair money," but she refused.
After the shiva, Tzvika attempted to transfer her 2,000 shekels through Bit, but she declined to accept it. Instead, she sent him this message: "There's no need to pay. The repair shop owner, upon hearing that the one responsible for the damage was the father of a soldier who fell in Gaza, refused to take the money," she told him.
