The Bibas family is not just a family story; it has become the story of an entire nation. Millions across the country are waiting to hear if Shiri, Yarden, Ariel, and the baby Kfir, who have deeply touched our collective consciousness, are safe and will return home peacefully.
The Bibas family has become one of the most talked-about families in Israel during the war. Unlike other children who have been released from captivity in Gaza, ten-month-old Kfir remains a hostage with his family under Hamas's control.
During Chanukah candle lighting, singer Yuval Dayan couldn't ignore this touching story.
"The Bibas family is still in captivity," she wrote in an Instagram post, "Today we light the fourth candle of Chanukah, one of the most family-oriented holidays for the Jewish people, and they are still there."
She shared an illustration drawn by an artist depicting the four family members as human-shaped candles. "A few weeks ago, I was told they are connected to me," she shared with her followers, "I was so moved and wanted to thank them, but they're still there. So tonight, standing before the menorah, I pray that the Bibas family comes home healthy and whole, along with all our captives, and that I can meet them in their yard and play any song they request, amen."
Dayan frequently visits soldiers and war victims. A few days ago, she traveled to visit survivors of the massacre, writing: "We traveled to see the heroes who survived the horrors at the beautiful compound in Caesarea. So much beauty, light, and spirit. You are such rare hearts. I already look forward to returning. Keep your hearts safe."
Earlier, during a visit to an IDF base, she wrote: "I love my people. The wounded, bleeding, strong, optimistic, broken, united, praying, angry, and embracing people. I love the people of Israel."
