Heartfelt Change: Social Media Icon Embraces Jewish Heritage with Son's Name

Famed fitness coach and social media influencer Sar Fitness touched her followers this week with a post explaining her decision to change her three-year-old son Leo's name to a Jewish one.

Her son, now named Eliya Aryeh, received this meaningful name amid turbulent times where many Jews are standing boldly by their heritage, openly declaring their unwavering connection to Judaism. "In these days, when people are hiding their Jewish identity, I felt it was the right time to tune into my heart and choose a Jewish name that feels right and sacred," Sar wrote. She added that she had long wanted to convert Leo to a Hebrew-Jewish name with spiritual significance, and through learning about the meanings and letters in Judaism, she further understood the power and influence of one's name.

"On this day of remembrance, we conquer darkness with light. Our ancestors in Egypt were redeemed in part because they didn't change their names, and we shouldn't try to escape the truth; we can escape everything but Hashem," she shared, moving readers. "With Hashem's help, may we also be redeemed through our closeness to Him".
