Meet the Japanese Diplomat Captivating Israeli Social Media

More and more internet users are getting familiar with the face of Yoshihiko (Yoshi) Higuchi, thanks to his social media videos where he humorously explains Japanese culture and the differences between Japanese and Israeli mentalities.

Yoshi is Japan's cultural attaché in Israel, bringing with him a fresh perspective that's far from what you would expect from a diplomat. But that's precisely his 'secret charm.'

As you'd expect, Yoshi speaks fluent Hebrew. If you're wondering where he gets this fluent Hebrew from, the answer lies in the fact that he has lived in Israel for a total of about ten years, with his first visit being 30 years ago. He came to volunteer at Kibbutz Kabri following in the footsteps of his mother, who also volunteered there in her youth, and he fell in love with the place. "I'm presenting Japanese culture to Israel because my goal is to connect the two peoples through these videos," he explains.
