Everyone wants their home to be clean, every single part of it.
But alongside keeping it clean, it’s important to conserve our energy and not waste it unnecessarily. A cleaning blogger named Mrs. Hinch, whose tips we often share here, offers an amazing and crucial tip for cleaning ovens with stubborn burnt food remnants, something we perhaps hadn’t considered before.
"The grease and burnt food residues that accumulate in your oven don't come off so easily," she says. "But instead of scrubbing away until the food is gone, I suggest breaking the cleaning process into two easy parts."
According to her, in the first step, you need to soak the burnt parts in half a cup of water and half a cup of white vinegar with a tablespoon of baking soda.
After soaking this solution on the burnt food for half an hour, you proceed to the second step, which is... scraping away the burnt residues using a spatula or a wallpaper scraper. "If you wrap it in a thin towel, it won't damage the oven coating, and you'll be able to remove any burnt remnants and tough dirt," she promises, adding that the scraped-off burnt food can be vacuumed up with a vacuum cleaner.
In this way, she says, you can also clean the oven racks, which can be really hard to scrub clean. "I've been doing this for years, and my oven shines without a single scratch on it. You should try it; I promise you won't be disappointed," she told her millions of followers on social media.
