A Miracle in Texas: Teen Declared Dead Makes Incredible Recovery

Sammy Berko, a 16-year-old from Texas, suffered cardiac arrest at a climbing gym after reaching the top of a rock wall. He was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.

His parents, Jennifer and Craig, recounted the distressing incident as described by the gym staff: "He reached the top and rang the bell like an emergency signal, then, it seems, he fainted from the exertion. His body was limp on the wall, but we thought he was just fooling around."

Paramedics who arrived discovered that Sammy had a heart attack.

The instructors watching from below couldn’t tell if the bell sound was serious. "We thought he was joking," one of them said. Security cameras showed Sammy's body hanging limp, and his mother, Jennifer, agreed he must have fainted. "At that point, the staff called out to him, and when he didn’t respond, an instructor climbed up and gently brought him down."

Gym staff and paramedics attempted to resuscitate Sammy for two hours, but a doctor who arrived declared him dead after all efforts failed.

"We received the news in utter shock," recalled Sammy’s mother. They were still grieving Sammy’s brother, Frankie, who passed three years prior. "The doctor asked us to say our goodbyes, and by his cold body, I expressed how much I loved him and regretted that we couldn’t save him."

Her words seemed to have an impact.

As she spoke and prayed, her husband, sitting beside her, suddenly shouted, "Oh my God, I think he’s moving!"

Before she fully grasped the situation, the room was filled with medical professionals. She turned to her 16-year-old son and couldn’t believe her eyes: "My son moved," she shared in an interview with 'Fox News'. "Doctors and nurses who came in said they had never witnessed such an event in their careers. One by one, they told us it was unprecedented for someone to be declared dead and then come back five minutes later," said the thankful mother. "The doctors told us it was a literal supernatural miracle."
