Victoria police officers in Australia are a tough crowd to surprise, having witnessed a slew of bizarre incidents on the job. But this week, they encountered something particularly peculiar that forced them to break their routine and take a different approach.

It was a quiet afternoon in a suburb of Melbourne, a time when unusual sights are rare. But then, a car approached from a distance that seemed 'odd' to one of the officers, as he described it.

The officer, sitting in his patrol car and scanning incoming traffic, alerted his team about the strange vehicle nearing them.

And he wasn't wrong.

As the car drew closer, the officers saw that it was a 'half Hyundai' luxury vehicle driving down the road. "We honestly thought it was straight out of the factory," the officers explained.

They pulled over the driver and got their first close look at the expensive Hyundai Palisade. For context, this model can cost around AUD 320,000.

Then came the shocking discovery: "The car was a mix of new and old. It was expensive, yet it didn't have a hood, a front bumper, or even front and rear windows. What is going on here?" the officers wondered. They took the 41-year-old driver in for questioning, discovering that she had been warned by another officer just three days earlier to stop driving the car in its current condition - yet she continued.

After publicizing the incident on social media, the Australian police explained that the driver would be fined AUD 740 for operating a vehicle unfit for the road, endangering herself and everyone traveling with her.

Furthermore, the car will be taken off the road unless the driver procures the missing parts and properly repairs it.

And what is the Australian police's amusing recommendation for drivers heading out? "Grab your wallet, driver’s license, and the front of your car."
