#VALUE!
If you use a gas stove, you might be making this common mistake that can lead to long-term damage.
According to stove experts, the most common mistake people make when using gas stoves is improper cleaning around the gas outlets (the small holes surrounding the burner). Improper cleaning involves using strong chemicals like degreasers, which can completely clog them.
The main issue is that clogging the gas outlets disrupts the proper functioning of the stove.
So what can be done about it? An American cleaning blogger named Dana White, whose videos are quite popular online, shared a remarkable tip for cleaning stoves. She recommends against using any degreasers at all. "I clean this whole area with just a toothbrush and lemon. If you really need to and the stains are particularly stubborn, you can add some vinegar or baking soda, but definitely not degreasers. The degreaser can remain in the gas outlets long after you've cleaned and dried the stove," she said.
Speaking of drying, White advises her followers to thoroughly dry the stove and its parts after cleaning and before using them again. It's also important to ensure they are placed correctly to avoid unnecessary malfunctions.
