Twenty years ago, Liat's grandmother buried her gold jewelry in a treasure box in her backyard because she was afraid they would be stolen. Before she passed away, she instructed her family to find the treasure, explaining where it was located. Despite many attempts, they found nothing. However, the treasure box was miraculously discovered on the very day they sold the house and handed it over to its new owners.
Liat, the granddaughter of Grandma Esther who passed away, shared on a morning show: "Before she died, she didn't want us to receive it after she was gone; she wanted us to find it. She wanted to explain the significance of each piece of jewelry and divide them among us. She asked us to search for it. She was already bedridden and couldn't get up. She told us it was hidden between the tree and the sidewalk. My mom and I dug around. Each time she'd ask about the box, about the jewelry. We didn't want to upset her, so we told her we would keep looking, but she understood it probably wasn't there anymore."
Liat added that some family members thought Grandma might have imagined it, possibly due to her age, but others believed in the existence of the treasure box. Grandma Esther passed away, leaving disappointed family members who were unable to fulfill her dream of finding the treasure. "It was heartbreaking not to have fulfilled her wish. She was also very sad. We thought it might have been stolen, that someone saw her hiding it," Liat recounted.

Then, the house where Grandma lived was sold, and the day came when the family had to hand over the keys. Liat woke up that morning to a message from her mom on the family WhatsApp group: "I remind you that today we say goodbye to the house. Come take any last things and say farewell."
On her way to bid farewell to the house, Liat coincidentally met their 12-year-old neighbor, Uri Liner, who was holding a metal detector. "There was a story in the news, and it made me want to get a detector," Uri explained. "I don't usually use it, but I happened to have it with me that day. Liat asked if she could borrow it." Uri and his friends volunteered to search for the treasure box with the metal detector, and indeed, in the area where it was supposed to be, the detector beeped.
"At first, we dug in the expected spot and found a screw. We kept searching, digging, and I found a piece of plastic box. I dug a bit more, reached in, and suddenly felt a gold chain around my hand," Uri recounted.
Liat says in that moment, she felt a huge relief: "We weren't interested in the jewelry at all, we didn't even look at them, it was just a huge relief to find it. It turned what was supposed to be a sad day of saying goodbye to Grandma's house into a super happy day."
