#VALUE!
How much can your joy influence others and even benefit you? This recent story proves that no matter your socio-economic status, you must keep smiling.
It all started on an otherwise ordinary day.
Daniel Miller, an elderly man who makes a living collecting and returning empty bottles, was recently attacked while waiting in line to deposit his bottles. As a result of the attack, Miller's glasses were broken.
Later, a police officer who arrived at the scene and spoke with him about the incident made an exceptional and compassionate decision to buy new glasses for him. "This officer restored my faith in humanity," Miller shared emotionally with 'Yediot Aharonot', standing next to the officer who pampered him, in his words, 'with the most beautiful glasses'. "He saw that my glasses were broken and asked what I was going to do without them. I told him I had no idea. I would just keep collecting and depositing bottles until I could afford new glasses because I'm poor. I don’t have any money. Then he took me to a store and bought me the best glasses."
Reacting to the gesture, Officer Shani smiled and said that when he saw Miller "lost something so precious to his life and yet didn’t wipe the smile off his face—it touched my heart."
