#VALUE!

Rinat Gor stumbled upon a heartbreaking scene at the supermarket when she noticed an elderly man with a half-empty shopping cart and only 10 shekels in his hand. "I'm hungry," he said, and Gor couldn't remain unmoved. Here's what she writes:

"My heart broke! I was standing fourth in line. I noticed we were waiting longer than usual. I went to see what was happening and then witnessed one of the saddest sights I’ve seen in a long time," she wrote and continued: "In front of the cashier stood an elderly man, hunched with a cane, barely able to stand on his feet, very thin. He had maybe 6 items in his cart and was asking the cashier for the price of each item because he only had 10 shekels and was hungry."

"He spoke in a faint voice, tears in his eyes, 'I haven't eaten for a few days,' he told her. The cashier scanned the items awkwardly, visibly uncomfortable, saying 'I'm sorry, sir, everything in your cart costs more than ten shekels.' The elderly man cried, repeating, 'But I'm hungry....' He took one potato and a roll and said, 'Just these, please.' I was watching from the side and, of course, couldn't remain indifferent to this painful sight. I told the cashier 'Wait, please stop -put everything he needs on me. I'll be right back.' I asked her to ring up everything that was in my cart together with his items. I packed it all neatly, full of good things, and told him: "Here you go, dear man. You won’t be hungry for a while." He looked at me with tears streaming down his face and said 'Thank you, thank you, thank you. No one has ever cared for me like this.' My heart broke. How can it be that elderly people are left so hungry, how is this acceptable?"

The post went viral, receiving many comments from online users praising Gor's actions: "An amazing deed. If everyone did something for someone else, the world would be a better place to live," wrote one. "You've truly earned a real mitzvah and demonstrated empathy and generosity," added another.
