#VALUE!
"If not for the kippah, they never would have met," wrote shay ben in a touching Facebook post that went viral. The post was accompanied by a photo of the couple on their wedding day, but their meeting seemed to be orchestrated by fate and not mere coincidence.
It all began when the woman was entirely secular, until she returned to faith with the help of Rabbi Shneor Guetta. After her return, she was certain she'd only marry a religious man.
A few months ago, while she was working as a beautician and stepped out for coffee, she noticed a man wearing a kippah. They both went about their days, but the next day, she called the beauty salon owner to ask the name of the mysterious kippah-wearer. Upon getting his name, she looked him up on social media and was surprised to see he was a completely secular soccer player. On his part, he also inquired about her and called her. She informed him it must be a mistake because she was looking for a religious man. "Don’t you observe Shabbat?" she asked. "I’m secular and a soccer player," he replied.
When she asked why he had been wearing a kippah, he said he was accompanying a religious friend to the salon, and when his friend was getting a haircut, he placed his kippah on the man's head rather than on the table.
Initially, she refused to meet with a man who didn’t even observe Shabbat, but he responded, "Listen, Daniella. I’m willing to observe Shabbat for you!"
After consulting with Rabbi Shneor Guetta, himself a former soccer player, the rabbi gave his blessing to the man. At first, he started observing Shabbat, eventually rediscovering his faith fully. This week, they were wed according to the tradition of Moses and Israel.
