Just a day after Wendy Koker taught her four-year-old son how to dial emergency services, he ended up saving her life, becoming a hero in Australia.

In August, Wendy, who is a certified nurse, lost consciousness unexpectedly. Wendy suffers from a rare condition that causes frequent fainting spells, so she prepared her son Monty for such an emergency scenario, ensuring he'd know exactly what to do rather than panic if she lost consciousness while they were alone at home.

In hindsight, this preparation saved her life.

"I tried calling my husband moments earlier to tell him I wasn't feeling well, but I only got his voicemail," Wendy recalls, as Monty, her brave son, sits beside her. "When I woke up, the paramedics were already by my side with the ambulance ready."

Wendy, Monty's proud mom, recounts that a day before the incident, she taught Monty how to unlock her phone and call emergency services. "I could see he understood the instructions, and I was relieved," Wendy shared. "He's a very smart child, our hero, and I'm incredibly proud of him."

Mark Small, a paramedic who arrived at Wendy's home, shared his amazement, noting he's been a paramedic for 13 years and has never seen a four-year-old call an ambulance. Another paramedic, with 15 years of experience, added that when they arrived, Monty waved to them from the window, signaling the right house. "He answered all our questions without hesitation and explained what happened. I also have a four-year-old, and that night, I went home and asked if he knew how to call an ambulance, but he didn't. So I started teaching him how to do it."
