#VALUE!
A father and son, who were in a life-threatening situation, were miraculously rescued at the last moment by emergency services, pulled from an icy lake in Boston, USA.
'We received a report about a sinking boat and immediately set out to locate the people on it,' said Boston Police Officer Stephen Merrick, who received the report and went out into the field with his team. 'The boat crashed into the rocks and they nearly died.'
The father and son were found with fear in their eyes and their bodies utterly exhausted. 'They barely had the strength to keep their heads above water. Their luck was that they were close to the place where their boat sank, allowing us to locate them in time. If they had drifted into deeper waters, we might have been too late.'
At first, the officers thought it was some object floating in the water. 'We didn't understand what we were seeing. From a distance, we thought it was a lobster trap, but as we got closer, we saw it was two people clinging to a black cooler. They looked weak, tired, and pale.'
According to the Boston Police Department, the father and son are doing well after receiving proper care at the hospital. Preliminary reports suggest that a long cable got tangled in the boat's engine, causing it to malfunction, break apart, and eventually sink among the giant rocks.
