#VALUE!
Izat Koak, a farmer in Turkey, is doing everything he can to ensure his family business thrives. To boost the milk production of his cows, he equips them with special VR glasses. These virtual reality glasses make the animals believe they're grazing in sunny pastures, while they're actually in a covered, gloomy barn in the middle of winter.
Koak couldn't believe his eyes: instead of producing 22 liters of milk, the 2 cows wearing the VR glasses produced 27 liters. In an interview with the Turkish news agency, the farmer explained that "we put VR glasses on 2 of our cows, so they watched a giant green pasture all day, and their daily milk production increased from 22 to 27 liters. These glasses are emotionally beneficial for the animals; we noticed the cows are less stressed. This is reflected in both the quantity and quality of the milk."
The Turkish farmer got the inspiration from an article he read about farmers in Russia who use VR glasses for cows. He was intrigued by the idea, contacted the company that makes these special livestock glasses, and ordered two pairs. Following the significant impact on the milk quantity and quality, Koak plans to order 10 more, and if the milk production continues to rise in the same way, he will buy glasses for all 180 cows on his farm.
Even before the use of virtual reality glasses, Koak played music for the cows. He claims that the cows become more relaxed. He monitors their mood and behavior with a tracking system that receives data from a chip attached to the cows' ankles. According to him, music has a positive effect on the quality of milk produced by the cows.
