#VALUE!
A post by Laura and Nathan Phillips, a couple who are both little people, is going viral. In their post, they share about their life as parents who are little people, raising children who are also little people, and express how blessed and proud they are of their kids.
'It's not the kind of family people are used to seeing around,' the couple laughs. Both of them are involved in a Harry Potter production and are considered celebrities in the United States.
'We love being a small family, and nothing will change that. When we were younger, people laughed and looked at us with disdain, but the world has changed, and I feel there's a lot more understanding towards people like us now,' explains Laura. 'It makes me happy to know that at least our kids will suffer a bit less than we did.'
In the post, the couple writes about parenting their two toddlers, who are also little people, and when asked by readers if they feel like a 'normal family,' they quickly responded: 'We absolutely feel like a normal family. The only difference between you and us is that we're small, but it doesn't bother us. We have no desire to be you, and we wouldn't change anything about our lives as they are today. We're very happy with who we are, and that's how we teach our kids: not to look and envy those who are different, but to love ourselves as we are. I love answering people's questions about our lives because it's nice to know they want to learn and improve their understanding of the lives of little people.'
Their post has garnered thousands of views and likes on social media, and dozens of comments have encouraged them to continue on this path and not be ashamed of who they are. 'Everyone should love how they look, regardless of whether they're small or big. What makes you great is your ability to look at others and make space for them—with your words and your sense of empathy. Nothing else matters,' wrote one commenter.
