The biggest shock was when I opened the receipt and saw the date - August 9, 2020. Almost a year had passed! How did she recognize me after so long? I must say, she truly touched me.
This amazing young woman is named Lea, and she is so incredible that when I asked her, 'How did you know it was my change?' she simply said, 'I knew you would come back, and I waited for you.'
Of course, I told her boss what a remarkable and rare employee he has, and I had to share it here as well. There are good people out there! Really."
Romi Gaz Cohen recently posted a story that touched many and reminded us of the inherent goodness in people. Here are her words:
"An unbelievable story that I never thought would happen to me! I really want to give kudos to a woman named Lea for her integrity; she is truly special.
I went shopping with my son in Bat Yam, and after about half an hour, a young woman who works there walked by. She stopped and said to me, 'You were here a long time ago with your daughter. You bought a jewelry box and left your change and receipt. I kept them for you.'
What? I was shocked! I really had been there with my daughter, but it was quite some time ago! But she seemed so sure it was me. She went and brought me the change - 20.10 NIS + receipt. Then I remembered we actually did forget the change!
My daughter thought I took it, and I thought she took it, and we realized that neither of us had. And now it turns out the cashier saved the change for us!
