An American woman, now 42, has taken the internet by storm with her fascinating life story shared through a series of viral videos. She revealed that at 26, she discovered her entire life was built on a lie; she was kidnapped as a baby, and her adoptive parents had never revealed this to her.
Known online as "Birdd-Mam," she initially shared her story in a short video titled "How I found out I was kidnapped." She explained to viewers that she always knew she was adopted and that her adoptive parents weren't her biological parents. However, upon deciding to investigate her past, she was stunned by what she uncovered. "I think I was about 26," she writes, "and assumed that the fastest way to find my biological mother would be to check her criminal record. I don't know what led me to call the sheriff's department in the city where I was born, but it seemed logical at the time. I called, provided my details, and the sheriff got very interested in me and my personal information. After a few minutes talking about myself, he asked me to sit down, as he had something to tell me."
According to her, after she sat down, the sheriff informed her that he couldn't find any record of her mother, but that she was listed as missing: "I've been considered a missing person since 1980. There was a police investigation back then to which I had no access because the records were archived, but I was indeed kidnapped. So yes, it was a tough day."
In a series of 15 more videos, she continued to share her story, revealing that her biological mother had decided to sell her to her adoptive parents, who were effectively her "kidnappers." Her grandmother had no idea and reported her missing. The biological mother chose to go along with the story, claiming she was indeed kidnapped, even though that wasn't the truth.
The story moved many viewers, garnering thousands of comments. "It's as if 26 years of your life were a lie," one commenter noted.
However, when she attempted to find her biological mother, she hired a private investigator, as the police refused to assist. The investigator helped her find her mother's family, but after a few years, they lost contact.
