#VALUE!
Steve Areen dreamed of having a home one day, and although he didn't earn a lot of money, he managed to save $9,000. It may not sound like much, but in Thailand, it proved sufficient.
A friend of Steve's gave him permission to build on a small plot of land in his mango plantation. Steve could already envision his future home and went straight to work. As mentioned, he only had $9,000, but he had plenty of time and one significant aspiration – to have a home of his own.
He bought construction materials for $6,000 and began creating dome-shaped spaces with concrete blocks. The house took on the shape of an igloo, and Steve decided to paint it orange because it reminded him of the earth. Afterward, Steve used the remaining money to purchase furniture and accessories to give the place a homely feel, and it worked.
