#VALUE!
A video that surfaced recently has gone viral: It features Captain Ofer Aloni on an El Al flight, addressing passengers over the intercom with a heartfelt message: "Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking, my name is Ofer Aloni and I am very, very, very emotional because I came specifically for this flight. I am a second generation to grandparents who were murdered by the Nazis."
"I was asked to give a special speech on this flight. I am here not to write speeches or repeat one I gave 20 years ago. Twenty years ago, I flew from Tel Aviv to Munich on Yom HaShoah. After I finished the routine announcement about the weather and all those things, spontaneously – I continued the speech by adding something personal."
"Both my grandfathers perished, and I never got to meet them, murdered by the Nazis, and I am sure they would be immensely happy to know that their grandson pilots a plane with the flag of Israel, slowly, over Germany."
Following these words, the captain surprised everyone by pulling out a guitar and inviting passengers to join him in singing 'Kol HaOlam Kulo, Gesher Tzar Me'od, Vehaikar Lo Lefached Klal'.
