Reunited Twins: A Heartwarming Tale from Indiana

About thirty-five years ago, two residents of Indiana, USA — Karen Werner and Mike Jackman — attended the same class together.

A few years ago, Werner, who is now 51, decided to open her adoption records and found out shockingly that she has a twin brother. This revelation turned her world upside down, and she embarked on a mission to find him.

Yet, the truth didn't emerge immediately.

It took years for her to find him, just as she was about to lose all hope.

"I turned to several adoption-related sites seeking their help," she recounted in an interview with WTHR-TV. "Shortly thereafter, they came back with a list of three men born on my birthday, and one name stood out. Mike Jackman was in my high school class, so I decided to reach out to him."

Interestingly, by the time she realized and reached out — they were already friends on Facebook. "I simply reached out and explained that I received a list with his name on it and mentioned that he might be my twin brother. Of course, he was shocked. It's not easy to receive such news in the middle of your life."

After the initial shock, Jackman decided to go with his 'sister' to a DNA lab to determine if they truly were twins — partly as a way to ease her mind and as a nostalgic gesture, he told her.

A few days later, they received the DNA results and were stunned. "The test showed that we are indeed twin siblings. I knew I was separated from him at birth, but beyond that, I knew nothing," Werner shared.

"I didn't think anything was missing from my life," Jackman stated in his interview. "There was something I didn't know was supposed to be there, and it filled a void I didn't know existed."

"Since discovering the news, we talk every day and meet several times a week to chat and laugh. It's surreal that we grew up apart for 51 years," Werner said.
