When Lauren Kennedy from the USA and her husband David got married, they knew they wanted a big family - but it didn't happen right away.

For a whole year, Lauren dreamed of becoming a mother, but as time went on without progress, they realized they needed to consider fertility treatments.

"I wanted to think about it a bit more, so I asked my husband if we could go on a vacation and decide together when we return," recalls Lauren. "After all, the idea of conceiving in a non-natural way felt too unfamiliar to me."

They went on vacation with a couple of friends and had a great time - but nothing prepared them for what one of their friends said. "I feel like someone up there has big plans for you. I don’t know what they are, but I feel you’re going to receive something wonderful."

"At that moment, I just smiled to myself with little hope," Lauren recalls. "We had tried so many things, and nothing worked. So what big plan could he be talking about? I didn’t know what to do until we returned home and decided together to start fertility treatments - even though I was skeptical about their success rate."

A few months later, Lauren received the news she was pregnant and most likely with twins.

"Even then, our joy was boundless; we felt rich," the couple explains.

But two months later, during a routine ultrasound, the doctor surprised them with a rare sight in the womb: "I hope you are calm, relaxed, and able to receive peacefully the news I’m about to give you: Congratulations, you have five embryos," the doctor announced.

Lauren and David were in shock.

"Before I could even react, the doctor suddenly said, 'Wait, wait, I see something else. Sorry, not five. Look, I see another embryo, you have six children,'" recounts a stunned Lauren, who was now faced with the toughest decision of her life: whether to bring all six children into the world or not.

"Suddenly I remembered the big plans someone up there had, as our friend had told us, and I told myself that if this was His plan - who am I to interfere? We decided to try to bring them all into the world."

In the delivery room, Lauren was greeted by a team of skilled doctors and staff, who thankfully succeeded in the daunting task of delivering six healthy babies - Andrew, Benjamin, Caroline, Leah, Allison, and Levi.
