"Once Again, Hashem Was Watching Over Me": Young Football Player Beats Cancer for the Fifth Time

Surviving cancer once is a 'reason to celebrate' in itself. Overcoming the disease a second time is quite the miracle. But what about a third, fourth, and... fifth time? "Once again, Hashem was watching over me," announced football player Casey O'Brien in an emotional social media post, sharing that he has fully recovered from the disease.
O'Brien, a football player at the University of Minnesota, marked the end of his fifth (!) battle with cancer. "I was diagnosed with my first cancer at age 13," O'Brien recounted to the media. Since then, he has fought the disease and managed to defeat it a total of five times. Despite feeling at times that the battle was doomed from the start, he fought back and never gave up the great privilege of living.
But truly living. Between countless nights in the hospital, frequent surgeries, chemo, and other treatments, O'Brien never stopped doing what he loves: playing the guitar, playing football, and studying.
In November 2019, doctors informed him of a small cancerous spot found on his lungs. "I needed surgery to remove it," he recalls.
He underwent a difficult but successful surgery, and about a week ago, he shared another post that concluded with these words: "Last day of chemo," alongside the announcement that he was done with cancer for the fifth time.
