Patients Healed Thanks to Arthritis Medication

In early March in Italy, doctors from Cotugno Hospital in Naples healed two COVID-19 patients in just one day using an arthritis medication. This existing drug, Tocilizumab, has been treating conditions like rheumatoid arthritis for decades.

On March 11, Italian oncologist Paolo Ascierto from Naples’ 'Pascale' Hospital suggested a national protocol for using this arthritis drug, which showed excellent results in treating pneumonia caused by COVID-19. One patient had already fully recovered and was released.

COVID-19 has claimed over 600 lives in Italy, and the number of infections has exceeded 10,000. "The hospital began treating two more patients on Tuesday and will start with another two on Wednesday using the drug," Ascierto wrote in his report.

The same drug helped 21 patients from China and a critically ill woman in the USA. This breakthrough came shortly after scientists' unsuccessful trials with another drug intended for HIV treatment.

Italy: 95-Year-Old's Miraculous Recovery

Amid daily tragedies in Italy, the story of Alma Clara Corsini, a 95-year-old grandmother who miraculously recovered despite doctors' grim predictions, emerged as a heart-warmer.
