Amid the coronavirus scare, singer Sagiv Cohen who accompanied Rabbi Zamir Cohen on a recent lecture tour, was quarantined immediately upon his return to Israel, resulting in the cancellation of his performances.

Recently, the Ministry of Health has mandated that anyone returning from parts of the Far East, including Thailand, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Macau, must be quarantined. An official statement from the Ministry of Health declared that individuals returning from these countries must isolate at home for 14 days from their return date and are prohibited from going out into public spaces.

Sagiv's wife, Sharon, shared that "while Sagiv was at the airport in Thailand, his temperature was checked, and he boarded the plane wearing a mask."

She remarked that the Ministry of Health announced that those landing in Israel would receive clear instructions on how to proceed, but this did not happen on the ground. "People just took the train and might be carriers, so I don’t understand something here: either the media is hyping and causing panic, or the Ministry of Health is disorganized and failed to manage the arriving passengers," Sharon commented in an interview with 'Mako'.

However, in an interview with Ami Maimon on the show 'Chidudon', Cohen explained that even though he received no official directive to quarantine, he canceled all upcoming performances—even at a financial loss of tens of thousands of shekels. "When we heard about it, we were just on our way to the airport for the flight and were alarmed. Once we arrived in Israel, although we were not instructed to quarantine, I didn’t want to take any risks, so I canceled all upcoming shows, which means a financial loss of tens of thousands. But the hardest part of this quarantine is that I can’t hug my kids," he expressed.
