A Miracle of Twins: From Adoption to Their Own

"I grew up in a large family, and since childhood, I always wanted 18 children," laughs Carrie Kosinski from the U.S., whose fascinating story made headlines a few months ago.

Carrie was adopted into a large family with both biological and adopted siblings. So when doctors told them it would be difficult for them to have children due to Carrie's health condition, Craig immediately knew they would turn to adoption. "When we adopted Kenya and Adaline, it was supposed to be a temporary solution for both us and their biological mother, who couldn't really raise them. But they immediately touched our hearts, and at some point, it was clear that it was going to be permanent," the couple recaps. "We certainly hesitated a bit, but I think it was clear from the start that our answer was going to be positive."

A short time later, the adoption agency reached out to them again. "They told us that the biological mother of our children found out she was pregnant with another set of twins and wanted to give them up for adoption as well. We didn't want the biological siblings to be separated, so we took in Cece and J.J., the biological siblings of the girls we were raising. Throughout this period, we tried to have kids of our own, but it wasn't successful. Even though it's challenging to raise four young kids, we were glad they were all together."

And then, what a miracle: only two years after the second set of twins was adopted, Carrie felt pains in her abdomen and went to the hospital. "They performed an ultrasound which revealed I was pregnant, and we couldn't believe our joy," she recalls with happiness. The couple thought they were expecting one child, but then came the big surprise: the doctor informed them that there was more than one fetus on the screen. "We understood this was a gift from above," says Craig.

But that's not all:

It turns out that the couple's biological twins, Carlene and Clarissa, were born on the exact same dates as the two sets of twins they adopted! Can you wrap your head around this??? If not, just read the last sentence over and over because that's what it takes to digest this astonishing coincidence. "Even we find it hard to believe there's such a crazy coincidence in the world," Carrie concludes.
