Even though winter is behind us and it's unusual to see or hear thunder in early June, consider it a wonderful opportunity to embrace each moment with blessings—a great merit in itself.
So, here's a little reminder about the blessings you can gain:
While there's no specific blessing for rain, if you see lightning (a bright flash of light) and hear thunder, you should say, "Blessed are You, Hashem, our God, King of the Universe, who reenacts the work of creation."
If you hear thunder but don't see the lightning, you should bless: "Blessed are You, Hashem, our God, King of the Universe, whose power and might fill the world."
What to Keep in Mind:
You shouldn't say the blessing every time you see or hear lightning and thunder, but only once in the same day unless the skies clear up and then become stormy again, prompting you to see and hear the phenomenon anew.
