A historic bag recently sold for an astronomical price: In the United States, one of the rarest auctions ever held took place last Thursday, where a bag was sold that had been released from NASA labs.

According to NASA sources, this is a 48-year-old bag that was used by Neil Armstrong during his first visit to the moon and even contains traces of moon dust.

In fact, until about two years ago, the bag was meticulously kept by NASA as one of the items from the first spacecraft to reach the moon, known as 'Apollo 11.' So far, NASA has only sold items from later flights.

However, due to an error that occurred, the bag was taken out of NASA labs in 2015 and sold to a private individual. Later, when the mistake was discovered, the bag was confiscated by NASA, and the person it was sold to took the matter to court.

Recently, the court ruled that the mistake was the fault of the U.S. government and not the buyer—therefore, the sale is valid and must be honored.

The bag was sold by the online auction house 'Sotheby's' for $1.8 million, thereby breaking the all-time sales record for items that had been in space.
