Much like the dark and beloved Coca-Cola, Iceberg chain is making waves with its bold marketing of black ice cream. This treat features coconut cream mixed with charcoal.

Meanwhile, Buza ice cream chain is crafting its black ice cream with different flavors, such as a Bamba-inspired taste based on zinc.

Adam Ziv, CEO of Buza, notes that due to the trend of successful black ice creams in the U.S., they decided to bring this daring black concept to Israel.

A Yedioth Ahronoth journalist conducted a taste test at two Tel Aviv locations selling black ice cream and discovered that it has many fans and loyal customers who adore it. Initially hesitant to try this intimidating, charcoal-laden dessert, he's now a fan too.

Are you concerned about charcoal and its potential dangers? Opinions differ. Some say ingesting charcoal is risky, while health experts suggest it can even help whiten teeth.

And about the zinc? Dr. Sean Portal, a clinical dietitian, states that "Zinc is an essential mineral found in nearly every cell, boosting the immune system, aiding in wound healing, and required for genetic material production. Additionally, it's crucial for growth and development." Zinc is primarily found in beef, cereals, poultry, legumes, nuts, and whole grains. Now, it’s in ice cream too. At Buza, they claim that eating one scoop of their black ice cream fulfills the recommended daily zinc intake.

Note: Currently, the ice cream is not kosher.
