As they return to buzz once more, shamelessly flying back and forth on your face and body, there are several solutions to help you get rid of them.

Flies are quite a nuisance, especially during the summer months. We wave our hands to shoo them away, but they keep coming back.

The average fly lives for no more than a month, but during this time, it reproduces relentlessly and is faster than us, flying away when we try to catch it. However, there are some natural methods to help you eliminate them.

Did you know? Flies have natural weaknesses too, and if we recognize them, we can more easily get rid of these small creatures. They love anything with a scent, whether good or bad, and are naturally attracted to light in the house. With the help of some strong-scented spices and essential oils, we can effectively and naturally keep them away.

Here are 3 simple and natural methods to repel flies:

1. Cloves with Lemon

Flies detest the smell of cloves, and when combined with lemon, you get an excellent fly repellent.

Instructions for Lemon and Cloves: Cut lemons in half and insert cloves into the lemon. Place the halved lemons on the table in your room or kitchen, and say goodbye to flies.

2. Homemade Fly Repellent Spray

Ingredients:

2 tablespoons dish soap

10-12 drops peppermint essential oil

10-12 drops lemongrass essential oil

Spray bottle

1 cup of water

Instructions: Mix the water with dish soap in the spray bottle. Add peppermint oil and lemongrass oil. Close the bottle and shake it well. Spray all over your home, and that's it. To prevent flies from returning, repeat this process twice a week.

3. Apple Cider Vinegar Fly Trap

To make a trap, mix apple cider vinegar with dish soap in a glass jar. Add some rotting fruits and cover with cling film that has a few holes.

Ingredients:

2 cups apple cider vinegar

1 tablespoon dish soap

Glass jar

Cling film

Toothpick

Instructions: Place dish soap and apple cider vinegar into the jar. Cover the jar with cling film punctured with a toothpick.

Place the trap on the porch or in the yard, causing flies to enter but unable to escape.
