Joe Biden is the Vice President of the United States. But alongside this vital role, he is arguably also one of the most sought-after bosses in the world. Over the weekend, a memo Biden sent to his team in 2014 surfaced on social media. Read the memo and decide for yourself if you wouldn't wish for such a boss:
'To my wonderful staff,' the letter began.
'I want to take a moment to clarify something for all of you. I do not expect nor want any of you to miss or sacrifice important family obligations for work. Family obligations include, but are not limited to, birthdays and anniversaries of family members, weddings, religious ceremonies like bar mitzvahs, graduation events, and times of need such as illness or family loss. This is something that is very important to me. In fact, I want to say that if I find you're working with me at the expense of important family obligations, I will be very disappointed. This has been an unwritten rule for me since my days as a Senator.'
It goes without saying that the memo earned Biden considerable admiration online. His office will undoubtedly receive quite a few inquiries in the coming days from people eager to join the team of such a considerate boss.
