In India, they take a rather unconventional approach when dealing with suspected thieves: they give them bananas—lots of bananas. A young man in his twenties was recently suspected of snatching a gold necklace straight from a woman's neck. Although he was taken in for questioning, he refused to admit his guilt, forcing the police to take him to an X-ray exam which, unsurprisingly, revealed the truth.

Despite the common belief that bananas can cause constipation, the young man was compelled to eat 40 bananas each day (!). After three days, the necklace was indeed expelled, but the woman refused to take it back. Instead, she requested the necklace be converted to cash value and paid to her by himWhat would have happened if the necklace hadn’t come out? Good question. For such cases, the police reserve some particularly original 'punishment' methods, including enemas and even drinking milk mixed with laxatives—not always natural.
