A Dream Come True: Becoming a Dad After 17 Years

When Dana Griffin-Graves' husband walked into the kitchen, he was just planning to make them a lovely dinner. Little did he know, Dana had something special in mind for that moment, to finally deliver the happiest news of his life: after 17 years of waiting, he's going to be a dad!

Why did Dana wait nearly five months (!) to tell him? After four miscarriages, a stillborn birth, and endless fertility treatments, it's not surprising. She simply didn't want to get his hopes up after they'd almost given up altogether. 

Once she knew for sure, Dana came up with the perfect way to tell him. Playing on the American phrase "buns in the oven" for being pregnant, she hid a pack of buns in the oven along with her latest ultrasound pictures and a little note announcing their son's impending arrival.
