"We are quite devout in our beliefs and lifestyle," said Yael (33), the Jewish daughter of the U.S. presidential candidate Donald Trump, in an interview with the prestigious fashion magazine Vogue. "I am a very modern person, yet at the same time, someone who is very committed to tradition."
Yael Trump completed her conversion process in 2009 at one of New York's Orthodox rabbinical courts to marry Jewish businessman Jared Kushner. Today, they are parents to two children, and besides her role as vice president at her father's company, she is also the entrepreneur and chairperson of a well-known fashion chain in the U.S.
After her conversion, the family grew stronger in observing Shabbat and keeping kosher. "From Friday until Saturday night, we do nothing but spend time with each other," she shared. "I think Judaism is an excellent foundation for family connection."
