True Friendship: Bethany Walker, a nine-year-old girl, sold rubber bracelets totaling tens of thousands of dollars to help her friend, Anne Marie Cox, who suffers from a complex genetic skin condition called Epidermolysis Bullosa.

The disease causes the skin to wound from simple pressure. The young girl is in a constant delicate and sensitive state. She does not go to regular pools and barely leaves the house due to the condition of her skin. Saltwater helps the skin heal, alleviating pressure and pain. A special therapeutic pool can be highly beneficial, but the cost to build one is $47,000.

The bracelet sales raised $47,000. With this impressive amount, the family built a special therapeutic pool in their backyard.

"I feel great," shared Bethany, a candidate for a community award for good citizenship, "Our favorite things to do in the pool are racing each other and playing with Barbies."

The unexpected initiative came into fruition after Anne's family managed to gather a few donations, but no one predicted the significant success from the rubber bracelets sales. The combination of the bracelets and the little notes written by the girl did the trick.

So the next time someone tells you the world is beautiful, don’t doubt it.
