Last weekend, theater actor Oded Teomi passed away after a prolonged battle with cancer. Actress Gila Almagor, who appeared alongside him in many productions, reveals the resentment he harbored for being forgotten.

Almagor exposed the deceit and falsehood of the theater and acting world, stating that someone who once stormed the theater stages and was considered a star "died with great sadness, lonely like a dog."

The veteran actress said these words in an interview with Esti Perez from Reshet Bet, noting the pain experienced by the 81-year-old Teomi, due to the disrespect towards older actors, the lack of roles offered to him, and being forgotten. "In the last year and a half he was very lonely and became dependent on care. It was terrible," she says. "It turned out that he actually died of a heart attack and not cancer, but it doesn't matter anymore. He had a lot of anger about being forgotten, and not being allowed to act. They hate old actors, and nobody wants them."

Almagor also expressed her identification with Teomi's feelings, saying that in her discussions with the Cameri staff she always implored them: 'Go to him, because he's lonely like a dog.'

"We must not abandon and forget people in their old age. It's unfair, and it's wrong," she concluded.
